Laura Allen, LCPC, BC-DMT
Laura Allen has been in the counseling field since 2005. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC), a board-certified dance/movement therapist (BC-DMT), and a certified movement analyst (GL-CMA).
Laura has extensive expertise in working with older adults experiencing memory loss, as well as individuals facing grief, stress, depression, and anxiety related to loss and transition. With her specialization in dance/movement therapy, she brings forth a valuable understanding of the connections between body and mind for everyone with whom she works, from emerging young adults through older adulthood.
“We have so many resources within our body, mind, and spirit that generate healing and propel growth. As a therapist, one of my joys in this work is to collaborate with others as they discover—or rediscover—this about themselves.”
Laura has worked in a variety of settings including adult day programs, inpatient and intensive outpatient programs, and she brings the insight of this extensive experience to bear in the counseling process to help you achieve wellbeing. Laura is also a counseling educator who provides clinical training and supervision for professional counselors and dance/movement therapists.
